We are looking to recruit an Income Collection and Recovery Officer to provide
Your role at Orbit.
We are looking to recruit an Income Collection and Recovery Officer to provide an efficient and effective income collection service relating to rents, service charges and other housing income.
Responsible for timely collections you will be working to achieve excellent levels of income collection from our customers and applying a preventative approach, you will also be expected to provide suitable advice to customers regarding entitlements and benefits on an individual basis. You will be responsible for identifying cases for proactive contact and enforcement action, being responsible for a portfolio of properties.
With excellent interpersonal skills and good literacy, you must be a confident communicator and possess exceptional negotiation skills. Ideally you will have experience of working within a housing management or debt management environment and will need to have a good understanding of benefit systems and domestic budgeting.
Please note the team work in a Customer Hub that is operational from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Above salary shown is starting salary and with a tailored progression plan once targets are met this will increase up to £24,449

What will help you make a difference.
* Excellent customer communication skills, including strong negotiation skills
* Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills including business letter writing experience
* Good IT skills including word and excel
* Experience of office and system administration
* Ability to prioritise workload and work unsupervised, with a proven record of accomplishment of delivering results
* Experience of providing advice to the public
* Debt Management experience
* Flexible approach to working hours to support business need.
Desirable
* Previous experience of housing law, especially in relation to debt recovery via county court process
