Collections Officer

Description:

Platform Resourcing have a new exciting opportunity for a Collections Executive to join a client business based in Newport, South Wales. Our client is a highly successful Media company. This role would ideally suit a candidate from a credit controlling/ debt collecting background.

Benefits:

* This is a permanent position paying a competitive salary of £20,000 plus a £100 monthly bonus based on compliance that is completely achievable and reached by most members of the team monthly

* Holidays - 25 days plus 8 statutory (Christmas shutdown too)

* Hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Duties and Responsibilities

* Receiving inbound and making outbound calls to customers

* Assisting Sales team with unlocking overdue accounts

* Ensuring all conversations are recorded onto the diary management system

* Working towards achieving monthly cash collection targets

* Managing the scrutiny queue and making on the spot decisions whether to release the order for appearing in publication or not

* Reconciling accounts as and where necessary, considering eventualities such as unravelling accounts and reallocating as necessary

* Monitor and adjust credit limits to meet customer needs whilst avoiding the risk of bad debt

* Taking credit card payments over the phone directly onto the customers account

* Dealing with irate and difficult customers, both internal and external

* Negotiating repayment plans as and where necessary

* Setting up of payment plans and ensuring documented on the system

* Liaising with Sales and Sales Managers in person and telephone/email regarding the status of accounts and payment collections

* Preparing accounts for the Legal process

* Raising queries as and when required

* Chasing outstanding queries from Sales

* Working in a Team environment and supporting colleagues as necessary

Essential Experience:

* Experience within a collections or credit control environment

* Experience of negotiating and setting up payment plans

* Experience of going through expenditure forms with customers

* Excellent customer service skills

* Strong communications both written and verbal

* I.T. Literate
