Salary: £18,525 - £21,500

Location: Solihull

Hours: Full Time

Description:

Due to expansion our client, a well-respected and long-established financial services company based in Solihull is recruiting a Collections Officer to join their small friendly team.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar, regulated environment, can work within an ever-changing fast-paced team, and have excellent attention to detail

Key Duties:

  • Be able to identify and deal with vulnerable and sensitive customers via all methods of communication
  • Deal empathetically with customers through appropriate questioning to gain an understanding of their current circumstances
  • Examine accounts in arrears and determine the appropriate action, referring to the specialist team where applicable
  • Understand the reason and likely timeframe of financial hardship and make sustainable arrangements with customers
  • Communicate with customers in arrears by telephone in order to agree and monitor payment arrangements in line with the client's affordability and individual circumstances in accordance with the CLS forbearance policy
  • Monitor Judgment cases to ensure that payments are made as ordered
  • Communicate and provide accurate information in a timely manner by relevant methods internally and externally in line with company policy and procedures
  • Identify customer needs and complete required actions in accordance with departmental processes and procedures
  • Manage, organise and update relevant information onto databases
  • Adhere to agreed company regulation and external legislation
  • Operate on an automated inbound and outbound dialling system
  • Embrace changes to policy and procedures, using own initiative to challenge barriers and provide the most appropriate outcome for the customer
  • Pro-actively identify and report risk events to the relevant risk champion

Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to empathise, and challenge processes and work approaches appropriately
  • Ability to recognize when to adapt communication style to suit the customer or colleague
  • Adaptability and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A passionate "can do" attitude
  • Grade C or above, GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail, organised, motivated, and accurate
  • Good team player, but equally effective working on their own
  • Able to prioritise, manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong telephone communication manner
  • High level of professionalism with a reliable, positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

In return for your hard work, you will earn a starting salary of £18,525 - £21,500 plus excellent benefits.
