Purpose of the position
As a rapidly growing and exciting company who pride themselves on developing excellence, you will be working in an essential and key part of the company's core business plan.
The role of a Collections Agent at Redwood Collections Ltd is to proactively manage clients delinquent accounts, with view of seeking repayment in full when utilising our vast array of collection letters, emails, and telephone contact.
This will often involve negotiation with customers to secure ongoing monthly arrangements and settlement offers as well as advising your clients customers, in a professional and compliant manner, of the possible legal implications of non-payment.
Responsibilties & duties

* Suggest suitable legal action for non-payment
In addition to our standard in-house collection efforts, Redwood also has the facilities to offer a full range of further legal and enforcement actions to our clients, where applicable. Where our internal efforts seem futile, it will be the responsibility of our Collections Agent to highlight where these actions may be needed, and report these finding accordingly to management for these actions to be reviewed.
* Attention to detail
As a fully accredited and regulated company, attention to detail will also be an important factor of your day-to-day duties as a Collections Agent. As well as maintaining rapport with customers and having effective discussions daily, the correct candidate will have desire to succeed and will be proactive in ensuring their workload is managed in an organised and timely manner.
Training Programme
As part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing and developing talented individuals, Redwood Collections Ltd have a fixed training regime, ensuring all employees are provided with the knowledge and understanding to excel within their role.
We dedicate at least one hour per week to formal training, as well as learning on an ad-hoc 'shadowing' basis.
The training is carried out with various Head of Departments and the Senior members of the Collections Department, allowing successful candidates the best possible opportunity to succeed and build a lasting career with Redwood Collections Ltd.
Work Experience
Essential
* 1-2 years of experience in a professional working environment
* Previous experience within credit control or debt collection
Desriable
*
Previous experience within Account Management
*
Further education of a BSc/BA Hons 2.1 or higher (all degree subjects are encouraged to apply)
Personal qualities & behavioural traits
* Confident, personable, presentable and able to communicate well, whether face-to-face or via telephone.

Punctual and reliable - the correct candidate can be relied upon not to take unauthorised days off and to arrive at work on time each day.

Team player - Having the ability to help each other towards company targets whilst also having the ability to put ideas forward to encourage company growth and create a better working environment for the team.
